Dental Implants: Modern Tooth Replacement
Dental implant therapy has come a long way over the past several decades. In fact, it is now regarded as the optimal method of tooth replacement for patients with healthy, disease free mouths.
What is a Dental Implant?
Implants are prosthetic tooth roots that function as stand-alone replacement teeth. They are even stronger than natural teeth, able to support a single or multiple-tooth prosthesis.
The Implant Process
Your implant process starts with the implant being surgically placed into the jaw. After your implant is installed, it will take about 3-6 months for new bone to form around the implant and secure it in place. This is called osseointegration. Once stable, an abutment is placed over the implant, which will then support the fixed restoration.

Types of Implant Restorations
An implant can support just about any type of dental prosthesis. Crowns, bridges and even full mouth (All-on-4) dentures can be permanently supported onto an implant.
Regardless of how many teeth you’re missing, implants are an excellent way to feel like you have a natural smile again. Schedule a consultation to find out if implant therapy is an option for you.
